Notes from 8/27 Rotary Meeting
Meeting began with the pledge led by Karen Acker, followed by a prayer by James Grossi. Tom Guldi was our sargeant, and quizzed us on “this day in history.” Beau Hulse was nominated best dressed, notably for his salmon colored pants. James picked the winning ticket, but not the winning card, so next week we all have another chance to win the pot.
James updated us on the Firecracker Race (Sept 6th); members who signed up to help at the original July 5th race date are asked to please honor those commitments on Sept 6th, or let James know if you are unable to make it. We have water for the race, and Aleksandra will see if she can get the students to hand out the water, which is still in storage.
Rosane updated us on SouthamptonFest, with a brief discussion about tents (the Village is not interested in a co-purchase with Rotary) and the possibility of purchasing an inflatable as a less costly alternative if we purchase ourselves, perhaps assisted by donations. The SouthamptonFest committee will make a presentation at the next meeting on September 3rd so members can vote on various options.
Adam Goldschmiedt was the speaker. He is an experienced EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) implementer and author, helping businesses with 10 to 250 employees to 1) Crystallize their business vision, 2) gain the Traction to do what is needed to achieve that vision, and 3) create Healthy work environment.
